Can I be transparent—some weeks life comes at you hard.
One minute you're sipping your morning coffee, the next you're being pulled in five different directions. And the to-do list? It is never-ending with something being added to it on an hourly basis it seems. The phone notifications won't stop. This bill is due in 5 days, upcoming appointment in 3 days……Your thoughts can get scattered and honestly, it’s hard to concentrate and stay focused sometimes. A few months of this rollercoaster paced life and after a while, peace feels like a distant dream.
But here’s what I’m learning: peace doesn’t come from my circumstance calming down. Peace comes after I choose to anchor myself in the only One who never changes—God.
Isaiah 26:3 has been such a gentle reminder to my soul lately:
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”
— Isaiah 26:3 (NIV)
That verse is doing a lot of heavy lifting. God doesn’t say, “I’ll give you peace when everything goes your way.” No, He says He’ll keep us in perfect peace when our minds are focused, and our hearts trust Him.
Isaiah 26:3 gives me hope and has been blessing me. It has given new understanding to the “peace that surpasses all understanding” promise. (Philippians 4:7)
How can we begin to be rooted in peace?
Becoming anchored and rooted in Peace may look differently for each person. I will share what I’m using this week. It’s my Peace Plan. You are encouraged to join me.
✨ 1. Start with stillness.
Before diving into the posts, the texts, or the noise—pause. Even if it’s just ten minutes. Breathe. Pray. Open the Word. Start your day with God, not the world.
✨ 2. Watch your inputs.
Physically, it’s junk in junk out and spiritually it’s the same. What are you feeding your spirit throughout the day? Sometimes it’s not life that’s overwhelming—it’s the steady diet of junk we’re consuming. Choose worship over worry, gossip, or mischief. Choose Scripture over the scrolling social media.
✨ 3. Speak peace out loud.
I literally talk to myself. (Don’t judge me—David did it in Psalms!)
Instead of saying, “I’m stressed,” I now say, “God is helping me through this.”
Instead of “I can’t take this,” I now say, “God’s peace is guarding my heart.” There’s power in your words. Speak peace. Speak life. Speak Scripture.
📖 Your Homework: Yes, you have homework!
Write down one area of your life that feels chaotic right now. Then, find a verse that speaks peace into that space. Keep it somewhere visible—on your mirror, phone, or fridge. Let it remind you that you are not doing this life alone. God is with you, and His peace is available right now.
Again, Philippians 4:6-7:
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything... Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.”
— Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT)
Understand this…Peace is a person. His name is Jesus.
And the more we fix our focus on Him, the more rooted we become—stable, strong, and calm, even when the storm is still raging and hell still seems to be breaking loose.
So, this week, I’m choosing to stay rooted in Peace. And you can too. Let’s experience an intentionally peaceful week together!
Until next time remember a blessed soul is A Well-Fed Soul. 🌿
